Salt Lake City, Utah-Our beloved husband and grandfather Kenneth Barzee passed away on May 28th in his home among family at the age of 86. He was born on May 30th, 1925 in Salt Lake City, Utah to George and Elvira Barzee. He married Violet on June 2nd, 1961. World traveler, infamous prankster, Ken saw the world and made it laugh. A lover of music and dancing, he continually brought happiness and smiles to all he encountered. As a veteran of the US Navy and Army he earned first class awards for baking and cooking among other honors serving his country. Once he was home Ken devoted 40 hard-working years as a printer to Deseret Press. Ken was a marvelous handyman capabale of repairing anything and everything. This ingenuity and dedication to problem solving earned him lasting respect and admiration. Ken enjoyed himself most being close to nature. As 25 year members of a camping club he and Vi made their fifth-wheel a second home on the open road and at Pinnacle Resort. They have traveled to nearly every continent making friends all along the way. Ken leaves behind family and countless friends. He is survived by his wife Violet Barzee, step-daughter Sharon Parker, and many loving grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his step-son Jerry Christenson, his parents, and eight siblings. Funeral services will be held Friday June 1st with a 12:30 viewing and a graveside service at 2:00 at Memorial Estates on Redwood Road and 6800 South.
