Beloved husband, father, son, & grandpa
Louis Lajeunesse Quintana was received into Heavenly Father's loving arms on December 22, 2013. He was surrounded by his wife Elizabeth, daughter Linda and son-in-law Ed Goffaux. He also is survived by 4 grandchildren: Julie, Celeste, Frances and Paul, 20 great-grandchildren, and 22 great-great-grandchildren. There are numerous nieces and nephews in the United States, South Africa, and England. He was preceded in death by his son Robert, two sisters, three brothers and his parents. He was born in Manzano, New Mexico on February 26, 1921. He joined the army in 1942 and was stationed as a surgical technician in Axminster, England in the 315th Army Station Hospital. There he met his beloved wife Elizabeth Grace Webber and they were married in 1945. He received the rank of sergeant and was discharged in 1945. Upon discharge he returned to Manzano to fulfill his childhood dream of owning land, farming, and ranching. He was also employed at Sandia Base in Security where he earned many awards on the Sharp Shooter Team. Later he was employed at Kirkland Air Force Base as Manager of Medical Supply and retired in 1986. All commendations recounted his integrity, respect for others, diligence and outstanding service. He loved the outdoors and yearly hunting trips with family and friends. He was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church and belonged to the Knights of Columbus and the Knights of Jerusalem. His gentle loving spirit permeated his life until the very end, a true gentleman who will be missed by friends and family.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 10:00 at St. Andrew Catholic Church at 11835 South 3600 West, Riverton with a viewing from 9:30-10:00 am. Interment at 1:30 pm at Mount Calvary Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 7:00-9:00 pm at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan, Utah with a rosary at 8:00 pm. Online condolences at www.jenkins-soffe.com.
