Lynn William Swensen 80, of St. George, UT passed away suddenly Friday May 10, 2013.
Lynn was born February 23, 1933 in Kamas, UT to Sverre (Ole) and Nellie Milliner Swensen. He attended Granite High School, served in the United States Army during the Korean War, and worked for Okland Construction for over fifty years before retiring at age 75.
Lynn married Juanita (Nita) Garrison on July 31, 1956, after a whirlwind romance in Ephrata, WA. Lynn and Nita were married for almost fifty one years before Nita passed away on June 11, 2007.
Lynn loved fishing, camping, golfing, and spending time with his family. He enjoyed being the camp director of the Milliner Family Reunions. Lynn received many awards throughout his career in the construction industry. Some of the awards include Superintendent of the Year and Building Project of the Year. Lynn was a very kind man and would always take the time to see how you and your family were doing. Lynn had numerous friends and relatives who thought the world of him and who will miss him dearly.
Lynn is survived by his children Kimberly (Jeff) Glass, Kevin Swensen, Robin (Ray) Bassani, Lynn (Bernadette) Swensen, Wendy (Daren) McPhail, 19 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, sister Sandra Olsen, companion Lou Nepolis, and his dog Miss Molly. He is preceded in death by his wife Nita Swensen, his daughter Laurie Swensen, and his parents.
A viewing will be held Wednesday May 15, 2013, at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 West South Jordan Pkwy, from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM, Funeral Services will be held Thursday May 16, 2013, at 11:00 AM, visitation from 10:00 AM 11:00 AM at the same location.
