Marvin Clark, 90, passed away February 11, 2013 after living a long productive life. He was born in Irwin, Idaho on September 12, 1922 to Elmer S. and Hannah Weeks Clark. He married Harriet Dorothy Olson on July 22, 1946; she preceded him in death.
In 1941 he joined the U.S. Navy. He served as a torpedoman on a destroyer in the Pacific Fleet. He saw many battles including The Battle of Midway and survived the Pearl Harbor attack. He received many medals and accommodations for his valiant service during WWII.
He enjoyed the 25 years he spent working for the Salt Lake County Fire Department where he made lifetime friends and retired in 1982.
He was passionate about flying, the outdoors and gardening. He was the ultimate "Fix-it-Guy". We love you and will miss you always.
Survived by his children Janice (Mike) Connell, Greg, Ray (Karen), Sherry (Jim) Dokos, Linda Walters, Bruce (Susan), Terry (Suzie), Marilyn Chase, Scott. 29 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and counting. Preceded in death by Marsha (daughter) and Maryann Clark (daughter-in-law).
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Friday, February 15, 2013 at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street with a viewing from 11-11:45 a.m. Interment: Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
