Neda Herbert Gyllenskog passed away peacefully July 12, 2013. She was born October 12, 1915 in Richfield, UT the fourth of five children born to Ernest and Emma Robins Herbert. Her father was a forest ranger and later a wheat farmer and rancher.
Neda's mother, Emma, was a schoolteacher and Neda followed in her footsteps. She taught the elementary grades in Salina and Richfield until her marriage.
She met her husband J. Grant Gyllenskog from Smithfield while he was working as a civil engineer in Salina. They were married June 17th, 1941 in the Manti LDS Temple and made their first home in Riverton, Wyoming. The family lived in many western states and retired in Logan..
Neda and Grant were always active in the branches and wards where they lived. They enjoyed serving as temple officiators in the Logan temple, full-time missions to Nauvoo, IL and the Oakland Temple Visitor Center. Grant passed away in 1996.
Neda's children include Marie in Seattle/St. George, Joel (Pat) in Boise, and Jeanne Funk (Elliot) in Santa Rosa, CA. She has 13 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 15th at 11:00 at the 19th Ward meetinghouse located at 1255 North 560 East, Logan, Utah. There will be a viewing in the meetinghouse from 9:30 to 10:40.
