MAGNA, UT-Ralph G. Alberico beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away peacefully on Thursday December 5th at the age of 88. He was born January 18, 1925 in San Vittorino, Italy. At 14, Ralph immigrated with his family to the United States aboard "The REX". As a boy Ralph took on the responsibility of being the "man of the house" while his father was away earning the funds to bring his family to America. Although it was a hard life some of Ralph's fondest memories were of his childhood in Italy. During this time, Ralph learned to play the accordion and was called on by the older boys to serenade their girlfriends in the middle of the night. He enjoyed playing for his grandchildren and at family gatherings. He was a proud WWII Navy Veteran, serving aboard ship in the Pacific. After the war Ralph married his teenage sweetheart Iole DiRenzo in New York and returned to Utah where he raised his family by working at Kennecott for 43 years. Ralph was one of kind, gentle and likeable guy loved by everyone who knew him. Preceded in death by wife, Iole; parents, Americo and Elena; sisters, Angie, Vera. Ralph is survived by sons, Ben (Celeste), Frank (Cathie), Gene (Carolyn); 11 grandchildren, Ben Jr., Peter, Steven, Kristina, Nicole, Kelley, Travis, Christopher, Chelsey, Austin, and Adam; 2 great grandchildren, Lola and Adelynn; brother, Armand (Marian); sisters, Valene (George), Diane (George).
Viewing will be held 6:00-8:00 pm, Tuesday December 10th, Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S. Magna, Utah. Friends may also call 9-9:45 am on Wednesday, December 11th prior to the 10:00 am funeral mass at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2840 S. 9000 W., Magna, Utah. Interment: Mount Calvary Cemetery.
