Reed Rollo Rosenberg Obituary
1923 ~ 2012
Reed Rollo Rosenberg passed away on March 30, 2012, heeding the call of his wife Betty, whose death anticipated his by only five weeks. Born in 1923 in Cedar City, Utah to Harvey and Cora Rosenberg, Reed began his education in local schools, reading every book in their libraries. He served in the Army Air Corp in World War II and later attended BYU, where he met Betty L. Taylor. After marrying in the Arizona Temple and doing graduate work at UCLA, he took his family to Bakersfield, CA where for thirty-five years he taught social studies and coached basketball and tennis at East Bakersfield High School. In 1986 he and his wife returned to Utah to be closer to family, and where, until the age of eighty, he continued to work in schools, never wanting to be far from students and learning. Reed read, always and everything - a half dozen books always within arm's reach. He served well at work and at church, but especially at home, supporting his wife in sickness, in health, and in her own extraordinary service. His respect for his wife (and for all women) is an unerring example for his male descendants. During his final hours he said, "thank you" two hundred times - a lasting testimony of gratitude and optimism. The best is yet to be!
The keepers of his memories, children Ann and Bob Barlow, Jan and Dave Noble, and John and Gaylamarie Rosenberg, eight grandchildren and twenty great- grandchildren, celebrate that now, for him, all things are present.
Family and friends may call at the Sundberg Mortuary (495 South State, Orem) on Monday, April 9 from 6-8 p.m., and on Tuesday, April 10 from 11:30-12:30 at the Suncrest Stake Center (90 N 600 W, Orem). Funeral services will begin at 1:00 p.m.
