Richard Wendell "Dick" Johnson passed away on Friday, November 15, 2013 at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah at the age of 80 after a heart attack.
Richard was born on June 8, 1933 in Omaha, Nebraska to Frank Gustauv and Annie Lawrie Knudsen Johnson.
Richard met Ina May Collier and they were sealed for time and all eternity on October 13, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Richard received both his Bachelors of Education and his Masters of Education from the University of Utah and remained an avid U of U fan for the rest of his life. He was a part owner of Ogden Honda Sales, a school teacher and a civil servant. He enjoyed fishing and was a seasoned traveler. Richard was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He lived his life with integrity, diligence and steadfastness.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ina May; his children Dana (Valerie), Eric, and Shaun (Hollie); his daughters-in-law Gladys and Rhonda; and by his 17 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Richard was preceded in death by his father, mother, his brother Frans Johnson, his sisters Marie Johnson Goodwin and Lois Johnson and by his children Frankie, Glen, Wendy and Joseph.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 23, 2013 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Lindquist's Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
