Robert Mulvey Obituary
Robert Arlon Mulvey, Sr.
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather passed away on May 4th at his home from a heart attack in Murray, Utah. Bob, as he was known, was born to Francis Ira Robert Mulvey and Ruth Evelyn Huggett on June 15, 1933. He served in the army and is a Korean War Vet. He served 28 years in the service and retired a Master Sergeant. He married Joy Karren on April 3, 1956. They raised their 5 children in Murray, UT. Bob retired from the Postal Service after serving for 32 years. After retiring from the Post Office he pursued his dream of becoming a chef earning a degree at Western Culinary Institute in OR. Later he became a chef at the Red Lion Hotel and owned his own specialty catering business serving private jet owners.
He will be remembered by all that knew and loved him for his unique and fun sense of humor. He loved military history, fishing, baseball, football, camping, traveling, gardening, and cooking. Above all, Bob loved his family and spending time with his wife, whom he affectionately called "Jose'".
He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Helen Pierce Colby and 2 great-grandsons: Dante Lewis and Kegan James Major.
Survived by his wife, Joy Karren Mulvey; children: dau, Lynda R Mulvey, sons, Robert A Mulvey, II, Richard A. Mulvey, Ronald A Mulvey (Tonya), and dau, Patricia J. Lemke; siblings: Joseph Dansie, Wayne Pierce, Steven Mulvey (Teresa), Mark Mulvey, Corey Mulvey, and Marlene Nelson (Greg); 9 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.
Viewing on Wednesday, May 8th, 6 - 8 pm. Funeral on Thursday, May 9th, 11 - 12pm with a graveside service at noon. All services will be held at Sunset Lawn Mortuary, 2350 East 1300 South, Salt Lake City.
