Delta, UT-Sarah Jo Gottardi Louder, 81, passed away Friday, December 13, 2013 in Delta, UT, surrounded by her loving family. Born February 10, 1932 in Denver, CO to Louie and Estel Allred Gottardi. Grew up as a coal miner's daughter and her mother was a school teacher in a one room school house, where she gained her love for teachers. Married Boyd M Louder in Kamas, UT on Feb. 8, 1958; later solemnized in Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died June 25, 2012.
Sarah Jo graduated Pueblo High School in Pueblo, CO and became a Licensed Practical Nurse, which led her to meet her cowboy sweetheart. They loved to dance. They moved to Utah and started their life together in Kamas, where they built, owned and operated "Louder's Chuckwagon". She was General Manger for C'est Bon Hotel in Park City. Later moved to Delta, where she opened "Louder's Country Kitchen". Member of Hinckley Lion's Club, American Legion Auxiliary and Red Hats. She was a pillar in the community. Taught at Alternative Learning Center and Health classes and CPR, for the Millard School District for many years. She loved her students and they loved her. Taught over 2000 students CPR and was awarded special certificate from Utah Governor. She was famous for her "everyone needs 8 hugs day". She was one of the Millard County's original EMT's where she served 25 years. Active member of LDS Church holding many callings. Her favorite calling was Area Representative for Church Social Services. Loved reading westerns, garage sales, recording old movies, shopping, music, talking politics and current events with her grandchildren. Loved her family, grandchildren and was very proud of all of them and she had a special place in her heart for her sweet little dogs.
Survived by her children: Ellen Louder Anderson of Centerville, UT; Jack Louder, of St. George, UT; Laurie Louder (Shane) Pitchforth of Ferron, UT; James Boyd Louder of West Jordan, UT; Tauna Louder Lindley of Salt Lake City, UT; Justin (Sheri) Louder of Delta, UT. She was so proud of her 23 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents: Louie and Estel Allred Gottardi; sister: Virginia Spencer; spouse: Boyd M. Louder; and son-in-law: Rex Lindley.
Funeral: Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013, 12 Noon, at Hinckley Stake Center, 188 North Main, Hinckley. Viewings: Tuesday evening at Nickle Mortuary, 6 - 8 pm; and 10:30-11:40 am, at Hinckley Church, prior to service. Burial Hinckley Cemetery. Online condolences at www.nicklemortuary.com
