Salt Lake City, UT-With his pain and suffering at an end, Thomas Calvin "T.C." Allen , 91, died on July 13, 2013 in the loving arms of his wife, Mary. He was born on March 12, 1922 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama to Fannie Collins Jackson and Mark Allen. He married Mary Lee Caver on November 10, 1946 and shortly thereafter moved to Utah.
T.C. proudly served in the Army (albeit reluctantly at first) during World War II and landed on Utah beach on D-day. He worked in the coke ovens for Kaiser Steel in Sunnyside, before working as an underground coalminer. He retired in 1987 after many years of faithful service to the Denver Rio Grande Railroad at Roper Yard.
T.C. departs this world survived by his wife, Mary, and sons Willy R. Allen (Pam), Hollywood, CA and Timothy C. Allen (Terri), Salt Lake City, UT, many grand-children, a host of great grand-children, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Toni C. Baisy, sisters, Rosie Harris, Gesna Baron, Ella Sylvester, Lillie Flemings, and brother, Jack Pickett, and special cousin, Oliver Hobson.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday July 18, 2013 at 12:00 noon at Deseret Mortuary, 36 East 700 South, Salt Lake City. A viewing will be held one hour prior to the services. Interment at Redwood Memorial Park.
