Goode, OSF Sister Agnes Goode (Alcantara), OSF, died Saturday, June 22, 2013. Sister Agnes was born in Circleville, Ohio, in 1928 to William and Ruth Maechtel Goode. Agnes attended Washington Township Grade and High Schools. She was a member of the Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate in Joliet, Illinois, which she entered in 1947. Sister Agnes received her Bachelor of Science Degree from St. Francis College, now the University of St. Francis, in Joliet, and her Master of Science Degree from the University of Illinois in Champaign, Illinois. Sister Agnes taught grade school in Chicago and Joliet, and high school in Chicago and at St. Mary High School and Bishop Ready High School in Columbus. In 1973, Sister started working in pastoral ministry at St. Agnes Church in Columbus, and later at St. Stephen Church in Columbus, St. John Church in Logan, and St. Michael Church in Worthington. Sister Agnes spent her last years in the Mohun Health Care Center of the Dominican Sisters of Peace at St. Mary of the Springs where she often expressed her gratitude for the staff and the Sisters for their many years of loving care. Sister is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers William and Raymond, her sister Elizabeth Scott, her sisters-in-law Catherine and Charlotte and brothers-in-law Richard Seimer, Stanley Scott and Richard Roundhouse. She is survived by three sisters Margaret Goode, Jean Roundhouse, Ruth Seimer; four brothers, Gerald, David (Pauline), John (Judy), Paul (Trisha); and sister-in-law, Mariellen Goode. Sister Agnes is also survived by many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews and cousins and her Franciscan Congregation. Calling hours will be at Mohun Health Care Center, 2340 Airport Drive, 43219 from 2 to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2013, and one hour before the Mass of Christian Burial which will be held at Saint Joseph Church in Circleville, Ohio, on Wednesday June 26, at 11 a.m. Burial to follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Circleville, Ohio. Donations in memory of Sister Agnes can be made to the Sisters of St. Francis, 1433 Essington Rd. Joliet, IL 60435. Funeral Arrangements completed by EGAN-RYAN FUNERAL HOME.
