Rill Albert Rill, age 87, of Columbus. Born June 12, 1926, passed away December 2, 2013 after a long illness. Retired master mechanic, machinist and precision toolmaker. Graduate of Central High School. WWII Veteran, U.S. Navy, Pacific Theatre. Longtime resident of Grandview Heights. Avid fan of OSU and Columbus softball. A largely self-taught tradesman, Albert very much enjoyed doing "Mr. Fixit" repair jobs for friends and neighbors. Preceded in death by his wife of 44 years, Maria Teresa (Priore) Rill, parents Henry and Katherine Rill, brother Harold Rill, and sister Erna Rill Evans. Survived by sons, Roger (Jill) Rill and Ronald (Teresa) Rill, both of Columbus; sister, Joan Rill Dysart of Westerville; grandchildren, Susan, Michael, Alan (Jennifer), David, Jenny, and Katie Rill; nephews, Jeff Dysart, Scott (Rebecca) Rill; nieces, Sharon (Mike) Cox, Carol (John) Farber, Diane Evans-Burton, Tricia (Gary) McGee, and Nancy (Peter) Grace; numerous grand-nephews and nieces. Special thanks to caregivers Diane and Brooke, who made Albert's final months as comfortable as possible. Following cremation, family will receive friends from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, December 8, at Resurrection Evangelical Lutheran Church, 3500 Main Street, Hilliard, OH 43026. Brief memorial service at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, family suggests donations in Albert's memory to the Capital Area Humane Society, Mid-Ohio Food Bank, or the Grandview Heights Public Library.
