Alice Sjodin Vivian Obituary
Vivian Alice Sjodin Vivian, age 91, of Columbus, peacefully passed away after a battle with pancreatic cancer, on Monday, July 29, 2013. She was born to the late Olaf and Signe (Nystrom) Sjodin on March 30, 1922 in Aitkin, Minnesota. Alice was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She retired from The Ohio State University as an Administrative Assistant in the Department of Industrial Design, after over 15 years of service. She was a Life Master Bridge Player and enjoyed attending Columbus Symphony and Jazz and Arts Group. In addition to her parents, Alice was preceded in death by her husband, the late Neal Vivian Sr., and her nine siblings. She is survived by her loving children, Debby (Rick) Stein of Circleville, OH, Steve (Pam) Vivian of Upper Arlington, OH, Neal (Marie) Vivian Jr. of Upper Arlington, OH; grandchildren, Cristin Huffman, Edward Caplan Jr., Eric and Bruce Vivian, Andrew Vivian; great-grandchildren, Abigail, Layla, Madeline, Emma, Esther, Micah and Miyako; extended family and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, August 11, 2013 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where the family will receive friends from 12Noon until the time of service. Celebrant Andrew Hoover officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made at a later date to Pelotonia 2014 by contacting Debby.
