Amelia Irene (Potts) Muhlbach Obituary
Muhlbach Amelia Irene "Midge" (Potts) Muhlbach, age 90 of Columbus, passed away Friday, August 1, 2014. Midge was born August 4, 1923 in Oak Hill, Ohio, daughter of the late Powderly Paul and Nora Mae (Jackson) Potts. Also preceded in death by her beloved husband Charles C. Muhlbach, sister Alberta Potts, and brother Howard Potts. Midge graduated with a degree in Education from Ohio University where she was a member of Phi Mu sorority and also received her Master's in Education from The Ohio State University. She worked as a 3rd grade public school teacher for many years at Edison Elementary School in Grandview, Ohio. Midge was a member of First Community Church, past president of Women's Guild, and past president of Delta Kappa Gamma, a professional honorary society of women educators. She also traveled extensively over the years and visited 6 continents including her last trip to India in 2006. Midge was a very kind and thoughtful person. Even during her last illness, and always the teacher, she encouraged those around her in a positive and caring manner to keep on trying. She will be greatly missed by her son and daughter-in-law, James B. and Alberta Muhlbach; grandchildren, Mary Elizabeth and Rebecca Anne Muhlbach; three great-grandchildren; niece, Margaret Ann Potts; and many other extended family members and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd., where family will receive friends from 12 noon until time of service. Rev. James Long officiating. Interment Union Cemetery.
