Hoffman Arlene Hoffman, of Ashville, passed away Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the age of 89. She was proceeded in death by her husband Warren Hoffman, MD in 2004. Arlene was the daughter of Cutler and Flora Cahill of Attica, Ohio. She was a long time resident of Pickaway County. Arlene graduated from Harding High School in Marion and obtained her Nursing degree in 1945 from the White Cross Hospital School of Nursing in Columbus. Along with her husband, commonly known as "Doc", Arlene served the community for over 50 years, together as a family practice medical team. She was a member of the Nurses Cadet Corp in 1945, The Ohio State University Alumni Association, The American Legion Auxiliary and the Riverside-White Cross Alumni. Arlene is survived by her two daughters, Rebecca Jones R.Ph., and Kathryn Ryba and her husband, Thomas; and her son, Warren Hoffman and wife, Susan. She has three grandchildren, Matthew Jones and his wife, Anna; Catherine Hoffman Schmidt and husband, Michael; and John Hoffman. Arlene has one great-granddaughter, Maddalena Jones. Visitation hours will be held at The OLIVER-CHEEK FUNERAL HOME, Ashville, on Friday, January 17 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 18 at 10 a.m. at the First English Lutheran Church, Ashville with Pastor Joe Wolf officiating. Burial will follow at the Harrison Township Cemetery.
