Solove Caryl R. Solove, born July 12, 1923 - died May 27, 2013. Born in Indianapolis, Caryl came to Columbus, Ohio when she was six months old, and she made a home there with her husband, Alvin "Bubbie" Solove (who predeceased her). Born the only child of Barney and Clara Dorman, Caryl became the center of a large and loving family including her four children, Ronald (Donna) Solove, Larry Solove, Jeff (Phyllis) Solove, and Jill (Richard) Herman. She is remembered with love by 10 grandchildren, David (Sarah) Solove, Adam (Sandra) Solove, Benjamin Solove, Daniel (Kimberly) Solove, Carly Herman, Halle Herman, Emily Herman, Jason Solove, Jon Solove, Rachel (Billy) Murray; 12 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews who loved her. She made a career of proudly caring for her home and family. She loved to laugh and was a devotee of the ancient game of MahJongg. Caryl, a graduate of Columbus South High School, attended The Ohio State University. As an active participant and leader in all aspects of synagogue life, Caryl served as President of the Congregation Tifereth Israel Sisterhood and was the first woman in the history of Tifereth Israel to be called for the honor of an aliyah during the reading of the Torah. Graveside services will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 29th at NEW TIFERETH ISRAEL CEMETERY, 2565 Performance Pkwy. with Rabbi Harold Berman and Cantor Jack Chomsky officiating.
