David L. Tolbert Obituary
Tolbert David L. Tolbert, 63, of Columbus, OH passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at The Ohio State University Hospital. David was born on November 6, 1950 in Columbus to the late Lawrence and Virginia Tolbert. Also preceding David in death was his ex-wife and best friend Pamela (Tolbert) Dineh. David is survived by his sons, Seth (Janene) Tolbert of Winter Park, FL and CPO Drew Ismon, United States Coast Guard of Boston, MA. David was an AVID sports fan. He attended the Kentucky Derby for over 40 years, coached various youth football and baseball teams, was a member of the coaching staffs for baseball and football at Upper Arlington High School, including the 2000 U.A. State Championship Football Team. David was a proud alumnus of The University of Wisconsin at Madison. He was Past-President of WAACO (Wisconsin Alumni Association Columbus Ohio); and was awarded the 'Sparkplug Award' by the Wisconsin Alumni Association. David was the owner/operator of B&T Metals, Inc. of Columbus, OH. B&T Metals was one of the first African-American owned factories in the United States. B&T Metals extruded uranium for the Manhattan Project. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2014 from 12Noon- 2 p.m. at Morone's Italian Villa, 1490 Bethel Road, Columbus, OH 43220.
