Price David Mark Price, 56, of Columbus, died on Monday, September 2, 2013 at his family home in Wheatcroft, KY. David taught voice and vocal pedagogy at Otterbein University in Westerville, OH and served as Choir Director at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Dublin, OH. As a professional singer David performed with OperaColumbus, Columbus Light Opera, Des Moines Metropolitan Opera, Ashland Symphony Orchestra, Springfield Symphony, Westerville Symphony, and Lincoln Community Play House. David was founding Artistic Musical Director of the Columbus Gay Men's Chorus and served as the Artistic Musical Director for the Denver Gay Men's Chorus. He was a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing and chapter president for Phi Mu Alpha Music Fraternity at Simpson. David received a BM in Music Education & Vocal Performance from Simpson College in Indianola, IA; an MM in Vocal Performance from the University of Nebraska in Lincoln, and completed post graduate course work towards a DMA in Vocal Performance at The Ohio State University. He is survived by his mother, Joyce Price of Wheatcroft; sister, Maribeth Rheingruber and her wife, Susan Rheingruber of Chicago; brother, Jimmy Price and his wife, Jennifer of Wheatcroft; brother-in-law, Mike Hargrove of Mayfield; and niece and nephew, Laura Woodcock of Seattle and Miles Hargrove of Mayfield. He was preceded in death by his father Jimmy Hart Price (1983), sisters Ruth Ann Price (1965) and Susan Hargrove (2013).
