Allan David Watson Allan, formerly of Joliet, died Sunday morning, June 9, 2013 in Columbus, OH. Survived by his wife of 49 years, Ann Allan (nee Rice); two sons, Adrew Atson Allan and Thomas Wesley Allan; a daughter, Katherine Elizabeth Allan; three beloved grandchildren, Ainsley Marie, Watson Edward and Campbell Rice Allan. Preceded in death by his parents Kenneth Thomas Allan and Elizabeth Watson Allan, a brother Noble Allan. David was born in Joliet September 22, 1937. He graduated from Joliet Township High School in 1955. He was an honored member of the grade school band and high school band where he was student director. Graduate of Beloit College Class of 1959 with a Bachelor of Science Degree. David proudly served as an officer in the U.S. Navy and Navel Reserve from 1960-1966. He worked for Sears Roebuck and Company for 39 years in Illinois, California and Ohio. After his retirement in 1998, David and Ann divided their time between Ohio and Northern Wisconsin enjoying their wonderful family and dear friends. Funeral services will be held at the CARLSON-HOLMQUIST-SAYLES FUNERAL HOME, 2320 Black Road, Joliet, IL., Friday, June 14 at 11 a.m. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Joliet Township High School Band will be appreciated. Visitation will be held Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
