McLoughlin Douglas K. McLoughlin, 66, of Pickerington, died on Monday, June 23, 2014. Born on November 20, 1947, Doug proudly served in the Marine Corps during the Vietnam War with the 1st ANGLICO out of Camp Pendleton, CA. After his service, he went into law enforcement, as a member of the SWAT, Homicide, SIU and as Commander of the Bomb Squad for Franklin County. Doug was a life member of the International Association of Bomb Technician and Investigators. He was a member of the FOP Capital City Lodge #9, Franklin County Sheriff's Office Patrol Bureau, the FBI National Academy, American Legion Post #283, VFW Post #3761, and the Ohio Military Reserve. He is survived by his wife, Virginia; sons, Eric McLoughlin of Jacksonville, FL, Deric McLoughlin of Pickerington, OH, and Patrick (Tina) McLoughlin of Pataskala; grandchildren, Brooke, Erica, Caleb, Payden, and Paxton; sister, Robin Van Schepen of Westerville; and cousin Pamela (Robert) Foose of Columbus. Doug was preceded in death by his mother Geraldine Hill. Friends may visit from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. on Friday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 550 Hill Rd. N., Pickerington, OH 43147, where a funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. Interment at Violet Cemetery.
