Flamholz Frances "Fran" Tanenbaum Flamholz, passed away in Israel on Saturday, March 29, 2014 after a brief illness. She graduated from South High School in 1954, attended Ohio State University and studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in New York City. Fran acted in many GalleryPlayers productions. Fran worked at The JCC and later, at Hillel. Fran and her daughter, Shari, made Aliyah to Israel in 1971. Fran's first job in Israel was working for The Association of Americans and Canadians. She subsequently worked for Smith Kline Pharmaceuticals and Teva. Fran cherished her family. Music and the arts gave her pleasure. She loved her adopted country, Israel, and The United States. Fran was predeceased by her parents Cy and Annette Tanenbaum, and her sister-in-law Barbara Tanenbaum. She is survived by loving daughter, Shari (Zadok) Goren; adored grandchildren, Tal and Matan; brothers, Hal Tanenbaum and Paul (Karan) Tanenbaum; sister, Laeh Bat-Simcha (Darrel Davis); and a host of adoring nieces and nephews. Shiva will take place at the Hal Tanenbaum residence through Friday, April 4, 2014 at 1 p.m. Donations may be made to Beth Jacob Congregation, Congregation Ahavas Sholom or Columbus Torah Academy. She will be greatly missed by all of us.
