Gary died at his home in the presence of his family who were able to love him, tend to him, praise him and tell him "Goodbye". The passing of this intelligent, kind and gentle man leaves a void that cannot be filled. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Sylvia Morrison Junkins; children, Gayle Morrison, Columbus, John Morrison, San Francisco, Lorraine Morrison, Phoenix and Michelle Morrison, Sacramento; grandchildren, Nicholas Bushman, Los Angeles and Collin (Megan) Morelock, Columbus; sister, Patricia Curran; nephew and niece, Malcolm (Kathi) Debettencourt and Lesli (Dale) Ashworth and their families; and brother, George Junkins, all of Houston; much loved cousins, Elizabeth Duffy and Myra Hayduk; uncle, Russell Moses; cousins and dear friends; and special friend, Joan Shkolnik. Gary was preceded in death by his father and stepmother D.L. and Lucille Junkins, and mother and stepfather Leah and William Clayborne, parents-in-law Herb and Gabrielle Mendenhall. Gary was a man of many interests and hobbies. He loved nature and animals, literature, music, art, world history, and corny jokes. He enjoyed running, watching and playing tennis, carving in wood and slate, glass blowing, taking walks and long rides with Sylvia, being with his grandsons, playing board games, and cheering for the OSU Buckeyes. He was a prolific reader and a lover of God and his word. Special thanks go to loving caregivers - friend, Tonya Kerrin of Covenant Home Health Care; daughters, Shelley and Gayle. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be announced in the Spring.
