Gerlach Gretchen Gerlach was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1931 to parents Pauline and John J. Gerlach. Gretchen attended Upper Arlington High School and was a graduate of Ohio State University. Gretchen was an artist. After moving to San Diego, California in 1978 with her family, she continued her education at Palomar Junior College where she studied Art and Art History for five years. She loved to sketch and paint and her passion for art naturally dovetailed with her love of nature. Gretchen adored animals and a beautiful sunset. She traveled extensively with her children and grandchildren. Her appreciation of art and nature inspired her travels. Gretchen especially enjoyed the culture and the food of Italy and hiking the rainforests of Costa Rica. Gretchen is survived by her daughters, Kelli Glover and Lisanne Ewing; and sons-in-law. Gary Glover and Randy Hayes. She is also survived by her beloved grandchildren. Ian Glover and Maggi Glover. In 2001, Gretchen was preceded in death by her son Bill Ewing. She is also survived by her brother, Jim Gerlach. A small private celebration will be held in June.
