Howison Harvey W. Howison, 68, of Chillicothe, died August 16, 2014 at his home, following a 3 month illness. Harvey was born June 21, 1946 in Chillicothe to Harvey F. and Lillian "Lil" Howison, who predeceased him. He was also predeceased by a step brother Harlan "Buddy" Starkey. On August 21, 2004 he married June Pinney who survives. Also surviving are his son, Sean (Mandy) Howison and grandson, Quinlin Howison; his brother, Tom Howison; and many nieces and nephews. He received a degree in Education from Ohio University in 1974 and a Master of Education in Education Administration from Xavier University in 1985. When he returned from serving in the army, he worked at the Mead for 7 years. He was employed by the Chillicothe Correctional Institution and later became a Guidance Counselor, a School Supervisor, and eventually Region 6 Principal for the Ohio Central School System, retiring in 2002. Harv was an avid bowler in his younger days, loved to read, enjoyed golfing, and was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds, the Cincinnati Bengals, and of course his favorite team, The Ohio State Buckeyes. Funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday at the HALLER FUNERAL HOME, Chillicothe, Rev. Lori Lossie officiating. A military tribute will then be offered by the Ross County Veterans Honor Guard. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday and one hour prior to the funeral Thursday at Haller's. His online memorial register is available at www.HallerFuneralHome.com.
