Johnsen Jane "Janie" B. Johnsen, 60, of Amanda, OH, passed away on January 31, 2013 in her residence. She was born on July 16, 1952 in Middletown, OH, a daughter of Arthur M. Johnsen and the late Janice (Larson) Johnsen. She earned undergraduate degrees in English, Theater and English Education at Wittenberg University and The Ohio State University, and Graduate and Doctoral Degrees in Instructional Design, School Media and Technology also from The Ohio State University. Janie's legacy includes her deep involvement and impassioned commitment to the Partnership in Schools and the Women in Technology and Science (WITS) programs which she organized at Ohio University Lancaster. She was an integral part of bringing the Diversity Studies Certificate to the Lancaster Campus. Her devotion and compassion to her students and community will be sadly missed by everyone who knew her. Janie is survived by her father, Arthur M. (Sue) Johnsen of Lebanon, OH; husband, Donald Renner of Amanda, OH; brothers, Arthur M. (Janet) Johnsen III of Hebron, OH and John H. (Heather) Johnsen of Utica, NY; a sister, Barbara Olsen of Bridgeville, PA; nephews, Erik (Dawn) Olsen of Metuchen, NJ and Charlie Johnsen of Denver, CO; nieces, Kristen (Paul) Rossi of Mt Lebanon, PA, Maggie Johnsen of Boston, MA and Nora Johnsen of Utica, NY; great-nephews, Andrew and Evan Rossi of Mt Lebanon, PA; dear friends, Sandy Foster and Lonnie Anderson and special friends, Harlee and Loki. She was preceded in death by her mother Janice (Larson) Johnsen. Funeral Services were held Monday at 7 p.m. in the Funeral Home with Pastor Erik Williams officiating. In lieu of flowers, Janie's family requests donations be made to the Fairfield Humane Society in her memory.
