Jay V. Eckhart Obituary
Eckhart Jay V. "Pete" Eckhart, born March 31, 1935, mother was Alice Worley Eckhart, and father was Jay Vincent Eckhart, Sr. Pete, devoted husband, father, Papa, uncle, and friend died unexpectedly on February 1, 2013. He was a 1953 graduate of North High School, and a member of the Okay Club. He was a graduate of the Ohio State University, and a member of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity. He served in the United States Army. Pete was married to Millicent Schlosser on July 13, 1957, having two daughters, Victoria Ann Eckhart and Dr. Alicia Sue Eckhart, and grandchildren, Patrick Moonan, Christopher Moonan, Mariah Fuerst, and Abigail Fuerst. Travel, playing bridge, and following Ohio State football and women's basketball were his enjoyments. He was a never-ending story teller and historian. He was a Real Estate Broker, and a retired C.E.O. of Ohio Remcon, Inc. which he founded in 1970 and owned for over 35 years. He spent his 21st birthday in Havana, Cuba, and worked 2 days at MGM Culver City, CA in the movie "Rain Tree County" starring Elizabeth Taylor. He was proceeded in death by his sister Sue Eckhart Greer. He is survived by his brother, Henry W. Eckhart, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., where family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of service.
