Rothney John Rothney, September 27, 1935 - May 6, 2013. Professor of French history at the Ohio State University. Graduate of John Hopkins University and received his doctorate from Harvard University in 1964. The author of several books, he wrote a best-selling textbook on world history. His hobbies included avid train collecting, bird watching, as well as collecting books. He also enjoyed traveling to Europe. No surviving relatives but he will be missed by some of his long-time friends, Mr. Richard Rogers, Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Baroway, and Ms. Marilyn Mansfield. Online guestbook at
