Schira John Thomas Schira, died on March 11, 2013. He was born September 8, 1926 to Frank and Hilda (Henige) Schira in Carey, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years - Louise (Jacob). He is survived by three sons, Steven, Mike and Jeffrey (Mary). He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He graduated from Purdue University (BSCE) and the Ohio State University (MBA). He retired as Chief Engineer from the Ohio Water Development Authority. He enjoyed traveling with his wife, was an avid bridge and poker player and a member of the Upper Arlington Senior Center. He was a charter member of St. Timothy Catholic Church and its Vintage Club and Men's Club. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Timothy Catholic Church, 1088 Thomas Lane, Columbus, Ohio 43220 at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 22, 2013, with a reception to follow in the parish hall. Interment will be at St. Mary's Cemetery, Carey, Ohio at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Timothy Catholic Church.
