Jeffrey Joseph A. Jeffrey, Jr., 80, of Gahanna, Ohio, died August 4, 2014, at his summer cottage in Columbus Beach, Indian River, Michigan. Joe was the son of Joseph A. Jeffrey, II and Virginia Bonney Jeffrey of Columbus. He was pre-deceased by his first wife Cynthia Black Jeffrey, his sisters Anne Jeffrey Robinson of Gambier, Ohio, and Joan Jeffrey Insley of Baltimore, Maryland and his stepson Geoffrey Gibson Weir. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Anne Gibson (Gibby) Weir Jeffrey; his younger brother, David L. K. Jeffrey of South Dartmouth, Massachusetts; and his stepchildren, Christopher Levering Weir of Upper Makefield, Pennsylvania, Walter John Weir II of Wycombe, Pennsylvania and Kathryn T. Weir Clemmer of Chalfont, Pennsylvania. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe graduated from Deerfield Academy in Deerfield, Massachusetts and attended Williams College, after which he served in the United States Marine Corps, one of the most rewarding experiences of his life. After his discharge, he attended the Ohio State University where he was a member of The President's Club. He was also a member of the Columbus Club, the Hillsboro Club, the Columbus Beach Club and the Rocky Fork Country Club. A service will be held Monday, August 11, at 11 a.m., with calling hours one hour prior to the service, at St. Albans Episcopal Church, 333 South Drexel Avenue, Bexley, Ohio. A private interment will follow. Contributions in honor of Joseph Jeffrey can be made to the Mid-Ohio Food Bank, 3960 Brookham Drive, Grove City, Ohio, 43123 or to Maryhaven, 1791 Alum Creek Drive, Columbus, Ohio 43207.
