Jackson Katye "Virginia" Jackson, age 99, of Columbus Ohio, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at Isabelle Ridgeway Nursing Center. She was born November 17, 1913 in Bedford, Virginia to Elma Mills and Lorenzo Jackson. Virginia grew up in Bedford, Virgina and graduated High School. She attended Ohio State University and worked for the Columbus school system. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Walter Jackson, her sisters Martha Harris and Berta Mills, brothers James, LesLee and Willie, and nieces Marine Frye, Flossie Robinson, Lucille Mason and Dr. Elma Bernice Mills. She is survived by her son, Byron of Columbus, OH; a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Also survived by special nephew, Raymond (Barbara) Harris of Wake Forest, North Carolina; special nieces, Berta Smith of Washington DC and Sharon (Keith) Lampkins of Patterson Heights, PA. Special thanks to Malcolm Tanksley, our Aunt's Guardian; Pastor Tatum and her Church Family of Good Shepherd Baptist Church. The family would like to extend many thanks to Isabelle Ridgeway for providing excellent care. Funeral services 11 a.m. on TODAY Thursday, September 26, 2013 at The Good Shepherd Baptist Church, 1555 E. Hudson Street, where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the start of service. Entombment at Green Lawn Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to DIEHL-WHITTAKER FUNERAL SERVICE, 720 E.
