Kurt James Harrison Obituary
Harrison Kurt James Harrison, age 50, died Sunday, November 10, 2013 at Heartland Victorian Village. Kurt was born in Tuxedo, NY on June 4, 1963, the son of Rev. Dr. James A. and Ingrid (Hultgren) Harrison. He graduated from Washington High School, Washington Courthouse, OH and from the University of Michigan with a Bachelors and Masters of Music. Kurt began his lifelong love affair with the cello at the age of four. He attended five summers at Pierre Monteux School. He participated in international music competitions around the globe. Kurt was involved with the Mansfield Symphony Orchestra, the Firelands, Westerville, Ann Arbor, Lima, New Albany, Central Ohio, Capital, Springfield, Metropolitan, and Ohio Valley Symphonies. Kurt was a member of Christ Lutheran Church, where he was active in the Thursday morning Bible Study and gave of his immense talent with the Praise Team in Contemporary and Traditional worship. Kurt is survived by his parents Rev. Dr. James A. Harrison and Ingrid H. Harrison; siblings Carl G. Harrison of Auburn, ME and Kristina E. (Jon) Laha of Wichita, KS; and nieces Molly, Jennifer and Kaylee Laha. Friends may call 5-8pm Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at SCHOEDINGER MIDTOWN CHAPEL, 229 E. State St., Columbus. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Christ Lutheran Church, 2314 E. Main St., Bexley, OH 43209 with Pastor Tim Iseringhausen officiating. Interment will be at Mountain View Cemetery, Castleton on Hudson, NY.
