SAGAR Larry R. Sagar, age 78, of Johnstown, and formerly a longtime resident of Fayetteville, Arkansas, died Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at Mt. Carmel East Hospital. Larry was born November 3, 1933 in Columbus, son of the late Lawrence and Susie (Ross) Sagar. He was raised in Gahanna and was a graduate of Gahanna High School. Larry was a restaurant manager with the Darden Group retiring after over 26 years. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dorothy (Elkins) Sagar; son, Brian (Tracy) Sagar, Johnstown, OH and daughter, Shelly (Christine Calandro) Sagar; grandchildren, Brianna (Aaron) Germick, Zachary Sagar, Veronica and Jacob Farrington; great-grandson, Troy Germick; sister, Donna (Clark) Ranney; sisters-in-law, Faith Sagar, Gerry White and Kay Fletcher; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends. Veteran U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War. Larry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who placed family first in everything he did. He lived his life as he always said "he was a young man trapped in an old man's body." He was an avid golfer and fisherman who often traveled with family to his favorite spots: Las Vegas, Alaska and Mexico to name a few. He was a passionate "RazorBuck", (University of Arkansas Razorbacks and The Ohio State University Buckeyes). A Memorial Service will be held 6 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2012 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd. (at Beecher Rd.), Gahanna, where the family will receive friends from 5-6 p.m. Friday. Contributions in Larry's memory may be made to the , 1950 Arlingate Lane, Columbus, OH 43228.
