Marie Lucille Ealy Gill Obituary
Gill (nee Ealy) Marie Lucille Ealy Gill, age 92, passed away on March 22, 2014 at National Church Residences in Gahanna, OH. She was born on January 20, 1922 to the late Clarence and Lena (Poth) Ealy. Marie married Robert Cole Gill on June 13, 1965 who survives. Her older brother, Herman Ealy preceeded her in death. Also surviving are her brother, Bob Ealy, Sister-in-law Dawna Ealy, Sister-in-law Lena Ealy and her niece, Linda Newman. Mrs. Gill obtained her B.S. degree from Capital University, her Master's degree from Miami University, and did graduate work at Ohio State University. She was retired as a teacher from Columbus Public Schools. Marie faithfully served as the organist at Peace Lutheran Church in Gahanna for over 35 years, and as organist at Acension Lutheran in Boynton Beach, Florida. She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, American Guild of Organists, Columbus Metropolitan Daylily Society and a former member of the Columbus Bonsai and Hosta Societies. She was also a member of the Franklin County Retired Teacher's Association and the Ohio Retired Teacher's Association. She was the Ealy family genealogist. Celebration of her life and her music will be held on Friday, March 28, 2014 beginning at 11 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church, 455 Clark State Road, Gahanna, OH 43230. The family will receive guests one hour prior to the service. Pastor Dwight Hedrick, officiating. Flowers will be appreciated. Interment will follow at Mifflin Cemetery.
