Collins Mary A. Collins, of Dublin, OH, a loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2013 after a brief battle with cancer. Our loss is truly Heaven's gain. Mary attended The Ohio State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse and worked as a maternal and child health nurse in the 1950's with the Columbus Health Department. Mary enjoyed gardening, cooking and her grandchildren. She was a member of St. Brigid of Kildare Catholic Church and was active in their 55+ Club. Mary regularly attended fitness classes at the Dublin Recreation Center. She was very caring and always concerned about the needs of others often putting their needs before her own. Family, friends and children knew they were always welcome in Mary's home. They were the most important thing to her and they will dearly miss her. Mary was the daughter of the late Domenick and Ida Settimio of Follansbee, WV. She is preceded in death by her sister Virginia Pomante and brothers-in-law Louis Pomante, Sr. and George Eddy, and nephews Donnie Pomante, Rick Pomante, Louis Pomante, Jr., and Edmund Bower. Mary is survived by her husband of 57 years, Dr. Elmer "Doc" Collins; her five children, Dr. Steve Collins (Paula) of LaGrange, GA, Judy Culkin (Tom) of Novi, MI, Dr. John Collins (Jane) of Saginaw, MI, Chris Collins (Harriet) of Cincinnati, OH and Sue Honious (Mike) of Hendersonville, TN; siblings, Joe Settimio (Gerri), Guy Settimio, Ollie Eddy, Julie Bower (Fred), and Helen Eberhart (Jim); her 11 grandchildren, Elizabeth Collins of Valley, AL and Joseph Collins of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Christopher Culkin and Catherine Culkin of Novi, MI, Madeline Collins, Jeffrey Collins and Caroline Collins of Saginaw, MI, Grant Collins and Haley Collins of Cincinnati, OH, Ryan Honious and Mitchell Honious of Hendersonville, TN; and many cousins, nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends. Visitation with family and friends will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. FRIDAY, MARCH 1, 2013 at ST. BRIGID OF KILDARE CATHOLIC CHURCH, 7179 Avery Road, Dublin, OH 43017, where her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. with The Reverend Monsignor Joseph M. Hendricks, Celebrant. Private family burial will be observed at Resurrection Cemetery, Lewis Center, OH.
