Maxwell Michael John Maxwell, 68, of Spring, Texas, passed away on February 11, 2013 at his home, surrounded by loving family and caretakers. He was born July 6, 1944 in Columbus, Ohio to Raymond A. and Joyce E. (Haas) Maxwell. He was born into a robust family of five children, three of which predeceased Mike, brothers Paul and Bob and sister Marilyn Hoderfield. He is also predeceased by his parents and beloved grandparents. He attended The Ohio State University and Franklin University, studying electrical engineering. His military time was served in the US Army Ohio and Texas National Guards. He attended Officer Candidate School and served as an airborne ranger in Texas. In 1968, he married the love of his life Nancy L. (Parr) Maxwell and they started their lives in northeastern Ohio. In 1970, he was transferred to Houston, TX, to begin a lifelong career in the oil, gas, and oil services business. His beloved children, Laura and Patrick, were born in 1977 and 1980. In 1975, along with Mr. Cliff Woodward, Mike started Cypress Creek EMS to provide ambulance care to the 1960--Cypress Creek area. This organization continues today providing excellent care to its patients. Mike travelled extensively with his career. He made friends and associates all over the world, all of which will miss him dearly. His career was completed serving as a consultant for Exxon Mobil - a job he loved. His family, however, was always at the center of his heart. He was always proud of Laura and Patrick and their accomplishments. He especially adored his two grandchildren. Mike had a personality bigger than life, constantly embracing friends and family. The very center of his heart was always occupied with his love of God--he lived a faith-filled life, every day of his life. Mike is survived by his wife, Nancy Lee Parr Maxwell; daughter, Laura Maxwell-Scott and husband, Eric; son, Patrick Maxwell and wife, Ruth Ann; grandchildren, Sophie Scott and Isaac Maxwell; brother, J. Fred Maxwell and wife, Dorothy; sisters-in-law, Valerie Maxwell and Jean Mehlman and husband, Ed; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, February 15, 2013 from 5-8 p.m. at KLEIN FUNERAL HOME CHAMPION FOREST, with a Vigil Service at 7 p.m. A funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Christ The Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 18511 Klein Church Road, Spring, Texas 77379.
