Rowlett R. David Rowlett of Buchanan, Tennessee, died on Sunday, October 13, 2013. He was born to the late John Rowlett and Learlye Lax Rowlett on May 28, 1948 in Paris, Tennessee. David graduated as Valedictorian from Buchanan High School in 1967, and received a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Vanderbilt University in 1975. He married Deborah (Crawford) Rowlett in 1971, and they lived around the U.S. together until his retirement in 2007, when they relocated to Columbus, Ohio. David worked as a Chemical Engineer throughout his life. He co-authored several patents, and worked for Owens-Corning Fiberglass, Amoco Oil, Exxon-Mobil, and Koch Industries over the course of his career. David was a life-long athlete and played basketball, baseball, and golf throughout his life. Preceded in death by his parents John and Learlye Rowlett. Survived by his wife of 42 years, Deborah Rowlett; daughter, Whitney Rowlett Senn (Matthew); sons, Michael Rowlett (Kristi), and Christopher Rowlett; grandchildren, Dimitri and Lillian Rowlett; brothers, Darryl Rowlett, Morris Rowlett (Marilyn) and Dorris Rowlett (Sandy); along with many nieces, nephews, and friends.Visitation for David will be held on Wednesday, October 16 from 3-7 p.m. at the MYERS-WOODYARD FUNERAL HOME 587 Main Street in Groveport, Ohio.
