Allemang Randall J. Allemang, 94, of Marysville, died peacefully Friday, November 1, 2013 at Emeritus at Halcyon Village in Marysville. He was born July 26, 1919 in Pharisburg to the late Randall and Esther Oldaker Allemang and was also predeceased on September 20, 2004 by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Ann George Allemang. He was preceded in death by his siblings George, Richard, Kay, Jo and John. He attended several schools in the surrounding area and graduated from New California High School in 1937. He worked for local farmers throughout school and following graduation. In 1938, he joined the National Guard and then enlisted in the United States Army in 1941. He trained as a glider pilot and was assigned to the 315th Troop Carrier Group when he arrived in England. He flew in Operation Market Garden, re-supplying troops as they moved through Holland. After completing his military service, Randall returned to Marysville. He married Margaret Ann George at Trinity Lutheran Church on June 8, 1947 and began his business as a custom home builder. For over 50 years, he remained involved in construction and built many beautiful homes throughout the central Ohio area. Through the years, Randall and Margaret Ann enjoyed many trips while camping all over the United States, Canada and Mexico. They were also avid card players and square dancers. He would not miss a chance to donate blood to the Red Cross and championed this cause his entire life. He was a member of VFW Post 3320. A lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, he served on a variety of committees, in addition to tending to church renovation projects throughout the years. Above all, family was very important to him. He kept in touch with many relatives across the country, rarely missing an opportunity to get together with the Oldaker clan in Chillicothe. He is survived by his three children, Randy (Jane) Allemang of Maineville, Mike (Lynda) Allemang of Marysville and Kathy (Bill) Farel of Powell; seven grandchildren, Matt (Allie) Allemang, Ashley (Mark) Sullivan, Brendan (Amy) Allemang, Spencer (Jen) Allemang, Brittany Allemang, Allen Farel and Tracy Farel; seven great-grandchildren; Austin, Ashley, Jordan, Bransen, Charlie, Ben and Maggie; three sisters-in-law, Thelma Allemang, Vivian Allemang and Marjorie (Art) Lochsky; two brothers-in-law, Jim (Nancy) George and Dan Tutolo; and many nieces and nephews and other relatives. Calling hours will be 2-7 p.m. Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at UNDERWOOD FUNERAL HOME, 703 East Fifth Street, Marysville. Funeral service will be held the following day, 11 a.m. Thursday, November 14, 2013 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 311 East Sixth Street, Marysville. Rev. Kathy Reiff will officiate and burial will be beside his wife at Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the Union County Military Funeral Honor Guard.
