Grooms Ricardo "Ricky" A. Grooms, 57. Sunrise February 24, 1956 in Gallipolis, OH and Sunset December 27, 2013 in Columbus, OH. Ricky was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. and was employed by the Drury Inn. Ricky was preceded in death by his father Charles A. Grooms Sr., stepfather Frederick Goodwyn, brother Dan Earl Black and grandparents Paul and Ethel Black and Rev. Henry and Mattie Grooms. Left to cherish his memory, mother, Norma Grooms Goodwyn; brothers, Stan (Yvonne) Muhammad, Charles A. (Valerie) Grooms Jr. and Bernard Grooms; sisters, Joyce Smith, Mattie Grooms, Yvonne D. (Channing) Gardner, Roberta Grooms, and Karen (Padmore) Agbemabiese; beloved friend, Vanessa Winters; special friend, Marcia Dennis; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Ricky will lie in state 12Noon-4 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2014 at MARLAN J. GARY FUNERAL HOME, THE CHAPEL OF PEACE, 2500 Cleveland Ave. Family will receive friends at 9 a.m. and Funeral 10 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2014 at Marlan J. Gary Funeral Home. Interment with military honors at Green Lawn Cemetery. The family would like to thank Mt. Carmel Hospice and Livingston Commons Staff. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Mt. Carmel Hospice.
