Robert A. "Bob" Kauffman Obituary
Kauffman Robert A. "Bob" Kauffman, age 80 of New Albany, passed away peacefully Monday, November 4, 2013. Bob was born and raised in Columbus, son of the late Albert and Marie Kauffman. Also preceded in death by his sons Albert Christopher and Scott Allen Michael Kauffman. Bob graduated from Columbus Aquinas College High School, Class of 1952 where he played football and golf, and then attended The Ohio State University. Bob owned and operated and eventually retired from ElectoSonics, a division of AiRadio, Corp. Bob had a brilliant mind and was a very successful businessman who was elected Aviation Entrepreneur of the Year and was awarded the Aircraft Aviation Electronics Association Lifetime Achievement Award in 2001. He was also the owner of Chandelle Farms, Baltimore, Ohio. Bob was a longtime member and past President of Ohio Harness Horseman's Association. He owned and bred countless champion and record holding horses, one of which was Hez Striking, an Ohio Triple Crown winner. Bob was dynamic and bold man. In addition to his love of horses and pets, he also held a love for aviation. He was a private pilot, enjoyed trips to Italy, and was a Buckeye football and basketball fan. He will be greatly missed by his wife of 23 years, Marianne Kauffman; children, Cheryl Ann DeWitt, Barbara Joyce (Kevin) Jonard and Meredith (Adam) Roslovic; eight grandchildren; four great grandchildren; brothers, Ronald P. (Linda) and Richard P. (Sharon) Kauffman; dear friend, Betty Stanley; and many other extended family members and friends. Family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. Thursday, November 7, 2013 at SCHOEDINGER NORTHEAST CHAPEL, 1051 E. Johnstown Rd., where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, November 8, 2013. Father Ryan Schmit, officiating. Entombment St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lockbourne. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Peace 4 Paws, P.O.
