Robert C. "Bob" Masoner Obituary
Masoner Robert C. "Bob" Masoner, born May 3, 1916, passed away October 25, 2013. Preceded in death by parents Paul and Emma Masoner, loving wife of sixty-six years Martha Heaton Masoner, daughter Marcy Heaton Masoner and brothers Paul and John Masoner. He graduated from Middletown High School where he was captain of the football team and was nicknamed "Iron Man Masoner" as he played every minute of every game his senior year. He also attended Perkiomen School and The Ohio State University and was a member of their respective football teams. He was a U. S. Navy pilot during WWII achieving the rank of Lt. He was a member of The Rocky Fork Hunt and Country Club and the Columbus Country Club. He was a past Vice President of MCQ, past Director of the Ohio Department of Energy, past Director of the Ohio Ready-mix Concrete Association and the Ohio Aggregate Association as well as being on committees of the Columbus Area Chamber of Commerce and the Ohio Manufacturers Association. He is survived by his children, Melinda Hersey (Bart) and Chris (Leslie); grandchildren, Bart Hersey Jr., Chris Jr. (Caroline), Megan, and Phineas (Cherstin) Masoner; great-grandchildren, Logan Hersey, Odin and Noah Masoner, Heaton and Holland Masoner; and extended beloved family. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, November 7 at St Alban's Episcopal Church, 333 S. Drexel Avenue, Bexley. The family will receive friends at the church following the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Nationwide Children's Hospital or The Ohio State University James Cancer Hospital. Arrangements by the SCHOEDINGER EAST CHAPEL, 614-861-6268.
