ABBOTT Rose Josephine (Barletta) Abbott, 85, of Worthington, passed away Sunday, December 26, 2010. She was born March 17, 1925 in Columbus, OH to the late Frank and Maria Barletta. Rose was a graduated of Westerville High School and attended The Ohio State University. Rose married Donald Abbott in 1951 and together raised three children. Later in life, Rose worked for the State Treasurer, Mary Ellen Withrow for 15 years. She has been involved with politics for years and was currently active in the Worthington Democratic Party. She attended the Vineyard Church, enjoyed gardening and fine dining with her family, and was an avid reader. Rose was a published author including an article in Reader's Digest. She adored her children and grandchildren and loved her dogs. Rose enjoyed life to the fullest and took part in a wide variety of activities. Preceded in death by her parents, husband Donald Abbott, and son Mark Abbott (in 2009). Rose will be missed by her loving daughters, Cathy Abbott and Sandy (Fred) Francia; grandchildren, Jennifer and Phillip Francia; sister, Verna Hines; nieces and nephews; and her faithful dog, Izzie. Family will receive friends Wednesday, December 29, 2010 from 6 p.m. until the time of funeral service at 7 p.m. at SCHOEDINGER WORTHINGTON CHAPEL, 6699 N. High St., Columbus (Just South of I-270).
