Evans Roy A. Evans, age 86, of Canal Winchester, died Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Mt. Carmel Medical Center. Born December 15, 1926 in Middleport, Ohio to the late Andrew F. and Clara M. (Hawkins) Evans, he was a graduate of Ohio State University and served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a retired high school social studies teacher. He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, VFW Post #10523, and the Ohio State Alumni Association. He is survived by his wife of nearly 60 years, Mary E. Evans; daughter, Pamela (Dale) Justice, Pickerington; son, Jay Evans, Canal Winchester; grandchildren, Eric andf Seth Justice, Mark, Justin and Megan Evans; great-grandson, Jaden Evans; sister, Shirley (Frank) Eastep, Beavercreek; nieces and nephews. Friends may visit 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the DWAYNE R. SPENCE FUNERAL HOME, 650 W. Waterloo St., Canal Winchester, and one hour prior to the funeral service 11 a.m. Monday at Faith United Methodist Church, 15 W. Columbus St., Canal Winchester, with Pastor Wayne Stuntz officiating. Interment with military honors will follow at Wesley Chapel Cemetery in Bloom Township. Online condolences at
