Wilson Ruth Ellen Jansson Wilson, 96, of Dublin, Ohio, passed away on October 1, 2013. She was born on August 17, 1917, in Coshocton, Ohio, to Siegfried and Hanna (Heintz) Jansson. She graduated from Coshocton High School and worked in the American Art Works sales department prior to marrying James Hay Wilson on September 13, 1940. Together they raised their family in Coshocton and later moved to Westerville, Ohio. Following her husband's death in 1978, she moved to Dublin, Ohio, where she has resided for 30 years. Ruth loved her morning walks in Dublin, followed by hours of needlepoint stitching in her home, and attending Buckeye football games on Saturday. She enjoyed several winters in Florida with visits to the beach and museums. Ruth is a life- long member of Grace United Methodist Church in Coshocton, where she sang as a choir soprano. She was a founding member of The Columbus Area Chapter of Embroiders' Guild of America, and achieved the Master Craftsman Award for her proficiency in needlework. She is a member of The Ohio State University Women's Medical Board; The Ohio State University Presidents Club, Central Ohio Diabetes Association Women's Board, and Columbus Scandinavian Club. The Ohio State University professorship in cardiology is endowed by James Hay and Ruth Jansson Wilson. In addition to her parents, Ruth is preceded in death by her husband James Hay Wilson, her three sisters and one brother. She is survived by her three children, Elizabeth Koeberer of Bexley, Ohio, Christine Wilson Strom (Mark) of Bokeelia, Florida, and Edson Hay Wilson (Bobbie) of Dublin, Ohio; two grandchildren, Alexandra Larson, and Christopher James Wilson; and four great grandchildren. A memorial service will be held on Monday, October 7, 2013, at 11 a.m., at Grace United Methodist Church, 422 Walnut St., Coshocton, Ohio, with Rev. Craig Redecker officiating. Burial will follow in South Lawn Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the church parlor one hour prior to the service on Monday morning.
