Koenig Sarah (Sally) Lightner Koenig, 86, passed away December 16, 2013. Sally was born on October 12, 1927 in Columbia, Missouri where she grew up. She graduated from the University of Missouri where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi Sorority. She is preceded in death by her parents Clarence Curry Lightner and Sarah Tandy Lightner, and her husband Edward Ralph Koenig. Survivors include her daughters, Catherine Claborn and Carolyn (John) Robinson; grandsons, Derek Tanner, Andrew Robinson, Matthew (Lauren) Claborn and Michael Robinson; and great-grandson, Lucas Tanner. Sally served as president of the Pi Beta Phi Junior Alumnae Club while living in St. Louis, Missouri. After moving to Worthington, Ohio, she was very active in the Columbus Chapter of Pi Beta Phi from 1972-2011 and in 2001 received The Ohio State University Greek Community Alumnae Service Award for her dedicated service to her sorority. She was also a member of Twig 65, the Worthington Garden Club, the Worthington Historical Society and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Friends may call at her home on Saturday, December 21, 2013 between 2-4 pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pi Beta Phi Ohio Beta Chapter Scholarship Foundation at 1154 Town & Country Commons Drive, Town & Country, Missouri, 63017. Funeral services will be private.
