Richwine Selma Louise Smith Richwine, passed away on January 11, 2014, at Crown Pointe Care Center with her loving family at her side. Selma was born on June 24, 1923, in Columbus, Ohio, to the late Ruth and Elton Smith. Retired as a teacher at Weinland Park Elementary. Selma is survived by daughters, Sharon Richwine (Jerry Anthony), Sandy Dow (Larry); son, Bob (Sharon); granddaughter, Emily Dow (Chris Corbett); grandson, Eliot Dow; and great-granddaughter, Ellie Harper Corbett. Selma's grandparents emigrated from Sweden to work in the coal mines near Nelsonville. She spent many summers traveling by train to Nelsonville to stay with her grandparents, Edward and Selma Love, and her aunt, Sigrid Love. Selma lived nearly all of her life in Clintonville, where she attended Clinton Elementary, Crestview Junior High, North High School and The Ohio State University, as did her three children. Selma was a gentle soul who cared deeply about all things great and small and who saw only the good in the people around her. She loved her neighborhood that bordered on Walhalla Ravine, where she nurtured her backyard to be recognized as a National Wildlife Federation Certified Wildlife Habitat. She will be interred in the Love/Smith family plot in Greenlawn Cemetery in Nelsonville. Memorial donations are welcome at Ohio Health Hospice/Kobacker House.
