William D. Kloss Obituary
Kloss William D. Kloss, 82 years old, of Upper Arlington, died Friday, November 22, 2013 at Kobacker House. Bill graduated from Bexley High School in 1949, and The Ohio State University in 1953. He served in US Army in Germany from 1953-55. Bill received a law degree from The Ohio State University in 1958. Upon graduation from law school Bill taught for 10 years at Ohio University, ultimately becoming Chairman of the Department of Business Law. He joined Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease in 1968 where he practiced corporate and insurance law until he retired in 1994. He was a member of the Columbus, Ohio State, and American Bar Associations. Bill was the former Chairman of the Board of the American Red Cross of Columbus. He enjoyed the Columbus Symphony Orchestra, travel, and Ohio State football. Preceded in death by his parents Arthur and Helma, and brothers Don and Bob. Survived by his wife of 51 years, Joanne; son, William D. Jr. (Jan) of Dublin; and twin grandchildren, Andy and Abby. Family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. on Sunday, November 24, 2013 at the SCHOEDINGER NORTHWEST CHAPEL, 1740 Zollinger Rd. Funeral service 10 a.m. Monday, November 25, 2013 in the sanctuary at First Community Church, 1320 Cambridge Blvd. Private interment to follow at Green Lawn Cemetery. Rev. James M. Long, officiating. Contributions may be made to the American Red Cross of Columbus, 995 E. Broad St., Columbus, OH 43205, or the Central Ohio Diabetes Assn, 1100 Dennison Ave., Columbus, OH 43201, in his memory.
