Paul Wayne Peterson, 87, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at The Gathering on December 14, 2013. He was born on September 9, 1926, in Sturgeon Bay to Phillip and Josephine (Garland) Peterson. Paul graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School and earned his Bachelors at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he was a four-time letter winner in wrestling.
On September 23, 1950, he married Pamella Prange in Sturgeon Bay, she preceded him in death on October 31, 2003. Paul worked as a naval engineer at R.A. Stearn for 35 years. Throughout his life he enjoyed golfing, tennis, and other sports and was proud of his hole-in-one at Cherry Hills. He always enjoyed family time, especially gatherings at the family cottage.
Survivors include four children, Debbie (John) Geitner, Kaukauna; Jeff (Patti) Peterson, Sturgeon Bay; Tom (Linda) Peterson, Blaine, MN; Susie (Tom) Selvick, New Berlin; nine grandchildren, Aaron Geitner, Justin (Chaunte) Geitner, Blake (Erin) Peterson, Danielle Peterson, Ryan Peterson, Ashley Peterson, Travis Selvick, Austin Selvick, and Annika Selvick; three great-grandchildren, Oriana, Bennett, and Nolan; one brother, Phil (Char) Peterson, Miami, FL. Paul was preceded in death by his parents, wife, one grandson, Kevin Geitner; one brother, Joe Peterson and a half-sister, Marney Wiltz.
Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 28, 2013, at the Hope United Church of Christ with Rev. Richard Feyen officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Saturday. Forbes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
