Leonard Favell, 84, St. Clair, formerly of Venice, Fla., passed away Sunday, June 24, 2012, in St. Clair.
Mr. Favell was born Feb. 1, 1928, in Scott City, the son of the late Herschel Favell and wife Mabel, nee Matney.
He was proud to have served his country in the U.S. Navy.
Mr. Favell is survived by his special friend, Phyllis Hawkinson, St. Clair; two sons, Roger Sohn, St. Louis, and Victor Sohn and wife Tina, St. Clair; one daughter, Carla DeSalme and husband Fred, Eureka; two sisters, Doris Cunniff and Evelyn Hooker and husband Ralph, all of Jacksonville, Ark.; 21 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; extended family, Richard Hawkinson and wife Linda and Joseph Hawkinson, all of Washington, Michael Hawkinson and wife Pat, Labadie, Billy Hawkinson, Union, Elizabeth Atchison, St. Clair, Julie Braucksieker and husband Kevin, Lake Hughes, Calif., and Jeri Wehrle and husband John, Redondo Beach, Calif.; other relatives and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Garland Favell; and special family member, David Hawkinson.
Memorial services were held Thursday, June 28, at Miller Funeral Home, Washington, with the Rev. Fred Broome officiating.
A grave site service will be held at a later date at St. John-Gildehaus Cemetery.
Memorials to Rainbow Activity Center are preferred.
The family was served by Miller Funeral Home, Washington.
