Marlin "Gene" Bollmann, 79, Defiance, passed away Monday, March 17, 2014, at Cedarcrest Manor, Washington.|
He was born Jan. 17, 1935, in Defiance, the son of Harry Bollmann and wife Warneta, nee Kneemueller. Marlin was a farmer and served his country in the U.S. Army. He enjoyed being with his family and friends, and loved to go clay bird shooting. Marlin was a member of New Melle VFW Post 5651.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Bollmann, nee Burt, Defiance; two sons, Blaine Bollmann and wife Lisa, and Jeff Bollmann and wife Mary, all of Marthasville; two daughters, Lia Heppermann and husband Rick, Foristell, and Kerry E. Bazzell, New Melle; 13 grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Marlin was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Warneta Bollmann.
Visitation is scheduled to be held Thursday, March 20, from 2 to 8 p.m. at Pitman Funeral Home, 1545 Wentzville Parkway, Wentzville, MO 63385.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 21, at 11 a.m. at Bethany United Church of Christ, Schluersburg.
Interment will be in the church cemetery.
Memorials to the Bethany Cemetery Fund in Schluersburg, in care of Pitman Funeral Home, P.O. Box 248, Wentzville, MO 63385 are preferred.
The family is being served by Pitman Funeral Home, Wentzville.
